The best vintage pieces, of course, come with a lively history\u2014but the best ones come with several, and this year\u2019s Vogue Vintage Market<\/a> is filled with runway looks, red carpet standouts, and quietly extraordinary pieces pulled from the closets of designers and friends of Vogue<\/em>. Think of this as a first look.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a Spring 2016 Chanel couture dress that was worn on the runway beneath a matching jacket; a Spring 2025 Carolina Herrera gown seen on Irina Shayk and later Joey King; a Puzzle 10 re-edition from Loewe marking a decade of the bag; Anok Yai\u2019s custom Michael Kors tuxedo dress from the 2021 CFDA Awards; and a red chiffon Dior dress worn for a 30th birthday at the start of Maria Grazia Chiuri\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n

Like what you see? Mark your calendar: On Saturday, March 28, the annual Vogue<\/em> Vintage Market returns for a one-day-only event at Roll & Hill in SoHo (3 Mercer Street) from 12pm to 6pm. Hosted this year by Doja Cat, the sale will feature rack after rack of archival fashion and homeware\u2014sourced from eBay (the official vintage and pre-loved partner of Vogue<\/em>) and curated by Amy Astley, Emma Chamberlain, Paloma Elsesser, and Liana Satenstein\u2014alongside pieces donated directly from designers\u2019 archives and a select group of Vogue<\/em> friends.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $45 via RSVP<\/a> and donation, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting the CFDA\/Vogue<\/em> Fashion Fund and the Center for Youth Mental Health at NewYork-Presbyterian.<\/p>\n

This Haute Couture dress (from an anonymous donor with a well-honed penchant for Chanel couture) is the kind of insider piece collectors dream of. First glimpsed on the runway beneath a matching jacket, it reflects the season Karl Lagerfeld described as \u201chigh-fashion ecology\u201d\u2014where craftsmanship and longevity took precedence over spectacle.<\/p>\n

The design is quietly exacting: a midi-length silhouette with cap sleeves, its waist defined by a subtle shift in the direction of the tweed. Woven in ivory, navy, and coral, the fabric feels richly tactile yet softly graphic\u2014a masterclass in Chanel\u2019s precision and restraint. Donated anonymously.<\/em><\/p>\n
