Where are you from?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n I\u2019m originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, but when I was 10, I moved to a tiny, tiny town in Northern Ontario called Deep River, where we lived in a cabin in the woods. The population of the town is 4,200 people, so it was really, really isolated. It\u2019s a nuclear reactor town. It\u2019s very beautiful; it looks exactly like Sweden.<\/p>\n We always played pretend. We had a TV, but we didn\u2019t have cable, so we didn\u2019t watch it. I wasn\u2019t allowed to play on the computer or anything like that, so it was a lot of going outside and playing with sticks and making up games. I had a lot of books on medieval times and a lot of fairy stories. My grandfather would travel the world, and he\u2019d always bring back artifacts. I spent a lot of time with him, and he had a parrot\u2014he still has the parrot\u2014called Socrates. He\u2019s from Greece. We\u2019d walk in the woods, and my grandpa would tell me it\u2019s like a fairy forest and we\u2019d build fairy houses.<\/p>\n Is there a story behind your name?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n My mother just wanted to give me an interesting name. I like it because it\u2019s very decadent and luxurious\u2014I must love things like yachts, champagne, and oysters, and live my life in glamour and mystery, ha ha!<\/p>\n \u201cThis is my medieval knight inspired party look. The sunglasses are 2000s Chanel; cape is Ann Demeulemeester; dress is actually a skirt I bought at Value Village in Vancouver (the tags are cut out so I have no idea what it is, however it does feel a bit cheap); shoes are vintage Rodo made in Italy.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/span>Photo: Courtesy of Monacco Dunn<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n Have you always been interested in fashion?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n I\u2019ve been obsessed with dressing up for as long as I can remember. I used to either dress up as a princess or a dog\u2014or I\u2019d dress up like a boy to fix cars with my dad. I always loved dressing up; my stepmom makes clothes, so she made me a lot of purple costumes that I asked for.
