At Fforme<\/a>, Frances Howie riffed on the precious \u201950s evening stole by roughing things up; raw edged shearling was \u201ccut and redirected . . . so that the pile pushed in different directions.\u201d While fur both real and faux was a preferred material, knit and bespangled options were seen on many runways.<\/p>\n Shrug-like capelets served much the same purpose as stoles by swaddling the body in comfort, or alternatively, providing a sense of protection.
