While Olympians Noah Lyles<\/a> and Junelle Bromfield<\/a> attended the same track meets when they were young, the two didn\u2019t officially connect until an Instagram message was sent in 2018. Noah tells Vogue,<\/em> \u201cJunelle decided to slide into my DMs, asking me the question, \u2018Do you cook?\u2019 And so from there, it led to a very long seven-year story of us eventually meeting, falling in love, being able to be with each other, not being able to be with each other, and then finally getting into a relationship where we have always stayed together\u2014and now have gotten married.\u201d<\/p>\n By 2024, Noah knew he was ready to propose. He had a ring designed that summer and began to plan a special proposal that would bring all their friends together for the big moment. \u201cI knew it was going to have to be a surprise because Junelle had previously told me that I\u2019m bad at planning surprises,\u201d jokes the runner. He normally planned a celebratory year-end trip with friends, so he decided to use it as the cover-up for the engagement party. \u201cShe didn\u2019t catch on until we got to the dinner before the actual proposal,\u201d he recalls. One guest wasn\u2019t aware of the upcoming proposal and overheard that it was about to happen. \u201cShe then leaves the table crying and goes to the bathroom,\u201d says Noah. \u201cJunelle follows in to comfort her, and this friend decides to tell Junelle, \u2018Prepare yourself for tonight.\u2019 And that\u2019s all Junelle needed to put everything together.\u201d When they returned to the Airbnb after dinner, a giant flower-filled heart and sparklers were prepared in the backyard. Noah then asked Junelle to marry him among their closest circle. \u201cAfterwards, we went out to the club, where we had a great, very, very fun night,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n The couple decided to tie the knot on April 4, 2026, at The Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge<\/a> in Trenton, Georgia. Junelle describes wedding planning alongside her planner, Rebecca Lang of L3 Events,<\/a> and Noah as very easy. \u201cUsually all I do is confirm ideas and might give my input here and there,\u201d she says. Noah says it was a little less easy on his end. \u201cI found myself being more of the planner than I thought,\u201d he says. \u201cI see myself as somewhat of an artistic director.\u201d One of the biggest challenges of planning was understanding the cultural differences of weddings in the United States and Jamaica, where Junelle is originally from. He also says there were some surprises when it came to crafting the budget\u2014especially as the smaller items began to add up. \u201cI\u2019d say thank the lord for Rebecca,\u201d the runner says. \u201cWe\u2019ve received tremendous amounts of favors from different companies and people that are all extremely skilled and at the height of their craft, offering their services that we just didn\u2019t expect. We\u2019re just very blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n The theme of the wedding was \u201cAll Shades of Melanin,\u201d so the fashion followed suit. For her walk down the aisle, Junelle wanted to have a \u201cclean, regal look\u201d in a ball gown by Pantora Bridal<\/a> with jeweled accents and an asymmetrical shoulder strap. \u201cThe owner is Jamaican, and I wanted to support another Black woman from my community,\u201d she says. Later in the night, she would swap her gown for a lace mini with a tulle train to hit the dance. Pantora Bridal also crafted sparkling bridesmaid dresses for her wedding party in shades of brown. \u201cThey were beautiful,\u201d says the bride. \u201cMy girls were also the first people to wear the dress.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
