Maybe you\u2019re drawn to <em>Flaming June<\/em>\u2019s sheer marigold dress, or <em>Nike of Samothrace<\/em>\u2019s draped, wind-swept tunic, or Madame X\u2019s sumptuous velvet gown held up by a delicate chain strap.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the Costume Institute\u2019s spring exhibition, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/costume-art-is-the-first-exhibition-in-the-costume-institutes-new-permanent-galleries-at-the-met\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\">Costume Art<\/a>,\u201d concerns itself with how bodies interact with fashion, and how fashion interacts with art\u2014so we asked <em>Vogue<\/em> staffers and friends to share their favorite piece of clothing from a painting, sculpture, or fine-art photograph. Where some were transfixed by figures from the past (just take stylist Bailey Moon, who has long been obsessed with Anne Boleyn, or Chloe Malle, who admires the Comtesse d\u2019Haussonville\u2019s styling chops), others, like <em>Vogue<\/em>\u2019s Nicole Phelps, were drawn to more abstract representations of clothing, such as the gleaming gold robes in Klimt\u2019s <em>The Kiss.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s not all. I\u2019ve always been especially drawn to Botticelli\u2019s ability to depict diaphaneity\u2014particularly with the Three Graces.
