This was an acceleration from the last quarter, when L\u2019Or\u00e9al <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/loreal-group-sales-accelerate-in-q4\" class=\"text link\">missed expectations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe not only outperformed a beauty market that remains dynamic, but accelerated our market share gains around the world,\u201d CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said in a statement. \u201cDriven by the step-up in our innovation plan, we continue to win in fragrances, haircare, and makeup, and start seeing some encouraging signs in skincare. And our e-commerce leadership allows us to double down on the winning channel with spectacular results across all regions, especially emerging markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On March 31, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/kering-sells-its-beauty-business-to-loreal\" class=\"text link\">L\u2019Or\u00e9al completed its acquisition of Kering Beaut\u00e9<\/a>, including House of Creed, as well as fifty-year exclusive licenses for the creation, development, and distribution of fragrances and beauty products under Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga.<\/p>\n<p>By division, L\u2019Or\u00e9al\u2019s professional products (including Kerastase and Redken) sales saw the strongest uptick, rising 15.5% year-on-year, followed by dermatological beauty (including Cerave and La Roche-Posay), up 10.8%. Consumer products (including L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris and Maybelline) were up 5.8%, and luxe products (including Kiehl\u2019s and Yves Saint Laurent) rose 5.2%.<\/p>\n<p>By region, sales in Europe (up 10.3%), North America (up 11.4%), and emerging markets (South Asia Pacific, Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa) drove growth, the latter up 20.4%. Latin America revenues rose 5.1%, while North Asia revenues fell 4%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe second half recovery in our two largest countries, the US and China, continued, and we outpaced the market in both,\u201d Hieronimus said. \u201cDespite current geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties, we are optimistic about the outlook for the global beauty market.
