Your most treasured piece?<\/strong><\/p>\n My mom used to travel around West Africa buying art and selling it in Toronto. She had this gorgeous suit made in West Africa for my grandmother. It\u2019s an indigo-dyed pattern with cinched pants and a loose, oversized suit jacket. My grandmother never really wore it, so I ended up with it.<\/p>\n What are you struggling to style?<\/strong><\/p>\n A vintage Loewe shirt with a zipper in the front. I always put them in the pile to give away, and I just can\u2019t do it, and I don\u2019t know why\u2014I\u2019ve never worn them. I think I was so excited to get them at the time. I\u2019m a very sentimental person.<\/p>\n What piece do you regret getting rid of?<\/strong><\/p>\n I bought a really cute suede zip-up shirt-jacket. I never had been able to style it, so I gave it away\u2014but to this day, I\u2019ll have a skirt or pants or whatever, and I think, \u201cYou know what would be fucking perfect with this?\u201d I\u2019m so mad.<\/p>\n Your biggest splurge?<\/strong><\/p>\n Moda Operandi has 50% off sales twice a year, but sometimes that really feeds delusion. I ended up getting a Wiederhoeft corset.
