Tonight, designers and celebrities will take to The Metropolitan Museum of Art dressed in their best interpretations of \u201cFashion Is Art<\/a>,\u201d to celebrate the 2026 Met Gala<\/a>. This year\u2019s event is particularly special; the evening will inaugurate the new 12,000-square-foot Cond\u00e9 M. Nast Galleries, which will serve as the Costume Institute\u2019s permanent home going forward. Ahead of tonight, The Met Store has unveiled an exclusive range of special-edition items that commemorate this year\u2019s exhibition: \u201cCostume Art.\u201d<\/p>\n This year\u2019s theme firmly places fashion on the same pedestal as fine art, with an emphasis on the dressed body across 5,000 years of artistic depictions, from which The Met Store\u2019s participating designers took inspiration. Bespoke items, designed specially for the occasion, range from Tory Burch\u2019s silk scarf to limited-edition Thom Browne nesting dolls, to a T-shirt and tote bag designed by Michael Kors, as well as John Derian decoupage trays and paperweights. These items are now available online at store.metmuseum.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n Also included in the offering is a series of hand-fired vases designed by artist Elif Uras, whose 2015 work Pregnant Hali\u00e7 II<\/em> is included in the exhibition, as well as fragrances designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
