Ahead of the 2026 Met Gala<\/a>, Alexa Chung called two people: stylist Danielle Goldberg<\/a> and personal trainer Matt Bevan. \u201cUsually, I\u2019m just sort of raw-dogging it alone, so it\u2019s been really helpful,\u201d she says of enlisting a powerhouse team with a clear vision. \u201cIt turns out everyone else was up to this!\u201d The fourth member of Chung\u2019s Met crew? Jonathan Anderson.<\/p>\n Danielle\u2019s first word of advice, it turns out, had been \u201cDior,\u201d which, serendipitously, was basically Chung\u2019s dream scenario for the \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d dress code<\/a>. And the last-minute back exfoliator purchased from Aesop on the morning of our call, taken while Chung\u2014wearing a signature navy jumper\u2014is in Met prep mode in her East London home. \u201cHonestly, if you\u2019re going to wear a strappy, silky dress, then there\u2019s not much room for error,\u201d explains Chung, before noting that hydration and carb loading are both key on the day\u2014along with a failsafe beauty routine. \u201cNow is not the time for experimentation.\u201d<\/p>\n Though she insists that this year\u2019s Met Gala<\/a> was all about feeling beautiful, and not \u201clumbering down the carpet in something that was hard to maintain,\u201d Chung couldn\u2019t say no to the couture headpieces inspired by the cyclamen Anderson was gifted by John Galliano when he took over at Dior. \u201cI quite like a bit of headgear,\u201d asserts Chung, recalling her 2023 look by R\u00f3is\u00edn Pierce, featuring a semi-bridal spray of crochet flowers that bobbed around as she hobnobbed with the great and good of the fashion industry. \u201cIt\u2019s really good conversationally to make your point with headgear on, so I\u2019m all up for adding width to the head.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Image](\"https:\/\/assets.vogue.com\/photos\/69f9481b9f1254680e115c98\/master\/w_1600%2Cc_limit\/GettyImages-2274058275.jpg\"\/)
