On Met Gala Monday<\/a>, first comes the carpet\u2014which this year\u2019s starry attendees ascended in their \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d finest\u2014and then comes a tour of the spring Costume Institute show inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But before the stars took in \u201cCostume Art\u201d<\/a> on Monday or mingled over cocktails, and much<\/em> before the Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Nicks<\/a> show at the Temple of Dendur, they had to hand over their cellphones.<\/p>\n So, what exactly goes on inside the Met Gala? Who\u2019s having a heart-to-heart with whom over champagne and chocolate raspberry cr\u00e8meux<\/a>? Who can\u2019t sit down in their architectural gown, and who hasn\u2019t sat down because they\u2019re having way too much fun in the (designated!) smoking area?<\/p>\n This year, Gracie Abrams was Vogue<\/em>\u2019s intrepid celebrity reporter, taking a (Met-approved) camera inside the goings-on. \u201cOur whole table was pretty undeniably lovely,\u201d says Abrams, who attended with team Chanel and wore a gilded, mosaic-like custom gown that referenced Klimt\u2019s Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I.<\/em> Among her tablemates were Jennie Kim<\/a>, Bhavitha Mandava<\/a>, Awar Odhiang, and Lily-Rose Depp.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone was grateful to be included,\u201d Abrams adds of her reportage. \u201cEveryone looked so beautiful in their respective interpretations of the theme, and every single person who allowed me to snap a picture was a gorgeous muse. It always followed an overdue catch-up.\u201d<\/p>\n Scrolling through the pop star\u2019s pictures, you\u2019ll see Heated Rivalry<\/em> boys Connor Storrie<\/a> and Hudson Williams<\/a>, a molten-eared Paloma Elsesser, Vittoria Ceretti\u2019s glittery back, and a playfully pouty Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/a>. There are also group snaps of Gracie, Maya Hawke, and Lena Dunham<\/a>, as well as Jennie and Chanel\u2019s Matthieu Blazy. Hailey Bieber<\/a> and Charli xcx<\/a> look dance floor-ready, while Sabrina Carpenter gets the party started onstage. Elsewhere, Chanel girls pose over their burrata appetizers and martinis flow.
