Summer is upon us, and you know what that means: We\u2019re dreaming of beach<\/a> days. For some New Yorkers, a beach trip means driving (or taking the Jitney or the LIRR) out to the East End of Long Island for the weekend, slipping away into a world of bike rides, swimming pools, wineries, farm stands, and barbecues. Maybe you\u2019re lucky enough to have your own home out there, or maybe you\u2019re among the many hoping for an invitation from a friend (or some tenuous connection)\u2014exchanging wine, flowers, good manners, and good spirits for a weekend away from the city heat.<\/p>\n Courtesy of Vendome Press<\/span><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n For anyone who loves the Hamptons (or aspires to spend more time out there), one of the most alluring aspects of the area is what\u2019s beyond those perfectly manicured hedges. What architectural marvels and charming, renovated beach shacks lie down that private cul-de-sac?<\/p>\n We may never know. Luckily, the new book Inside the Hamptons<\/em><\/a>, written by Jennifer Ash Rudick<\/a> and photographed by Tria Giovan,<\/a> shares a glimpse of some of the most stunning homes in the Hamptons, and a snapshot of the different personalities, lives, and decor stylings at play.<\/p>\n \u201cThe\u00a0Hamptons\u00a0has been part of my life since the mid-1980s, when I first stayed with a friend in a rambling Shingle Style house on East\u00a0Hampton\u2019s Main Street,\u201d Rudick tells Vogue<\/em>.
