3, 2, 1. . . Action!<\/em> As of tonight, the 2026 Cannes Film Festival<\/a> has officially kicked off in France. And one of the best parts of the annual festival is its glorious red carpet, where some of the biggest names of world cinema are expected to make their mark.<\/p>\n The Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Lumi\u00e8re hosted the festival\u2019s opening ceremony, led by the French-Malian actress Eye Ha\u00efdara. There, the entire jury presented itself to the eyes of the world: Serving on the committee this year is Park Chan-wook, the first Korean jury president in history, who was joined by Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Chlo\u00e9 Zhao, Diego C\u00e9spedes, Isaach De Bankol\u00e9, Paul Laverty, and Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd. (At the end of the opening ceremony, meanwhile, was a performance by Theodora and Oklou, and a screening of the opening film: The Electric Venus<\/em> by Pierre Salvadori.)<\/p>\n On the first day of the Cannes red carpet, meanwhile, the hand-picked A-list guests<\/a> caught everyone’s eye.
