Cyient Semiconductors said the products are designed to deliver higher efficiency and power density compared to conventional silicon-based alternatives.

The launch follows a strategic partnership announced between Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas Semiconductor in December 2025. Under the agreement, Cyient will license Navitas’ GaN technology for the Indian market while also serving as a second source for selected Navitas devices already in mass production. The arrangement is expected to improve supply chain resilience and provide customers with stronger local support and sourcing flexibility.

GaN semiconductors are increasingly being adopted in power electronics because they can switch faster, reduce conduction losses, and improve thermal performance compared to traditional silicon devices. These characteristics enable manufacturers to build smaller and more energy-efficient systems with simpler thermal management.

Cyient’s first set of products consists of seven integrated GaN power devices packaged in industry-standard DPAK formats. The devices combine drive, control, and protection functions along with integrated EMI management and current sensing. According to the company, the higher level of integration is intended to simplify system design and reduce development time for customers focused on reliability and efficiency.

Suman Narayan, CEO, Cyient Semiconductors, said, “With this launch, Cyient Semiconductors is introducing its first family of GaN power ICs, marking our entry into high-performance power semiconductors with a strong roadmap for expansion. Built on Navitas’ proven GaN platform, these highly integrated devices are designed to accelerate adoption and support next-generation power applications. This represents the foundation of a broader GaN portfolio that will address the growing power and efficiency demands of AI infrastructure, industrial systems, consumer power, and e-mobility applications.”

Click here for the original announcement.

Source link

Power devices for charging, AI servers, telecom networks, and EV systems have been launched with a focus on lower energy loss and smaller electronics.
