Participants also reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/2026-wellness-energy-and-focus\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\">higher energy levels<\/a> and improved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/what-quitting-sugar-taught-me-about-focus\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\">productivity<\/a>, and more than 80% completed at least 80% of the program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat adherence piece matters because many people today have full schedules and high responsibilities, so trying to carve out large blocks of time for exercise can feel overwhelming,\u201d Diamos says.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s important, Coleman notes, is the quality of movement. \u201cYour muscles don\u2019t have a clock\u2014they just respond to stimulus,\u201d she explains. \u201cIf you use those shorter windows for highly intentional, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/strength-training-women\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\">resistance-based movement<\/a>, you\u2019re still getting the exact muscle activation and metabolic output your body needs to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another factor to consider is intensity, says <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/denniscolon.physio\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/denniscolon.physio\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/denniscolon.physio\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dennis Col\u00f3n<\/a>, PT, DPT, founder of health coaching platform <a data-offer-url=\"http:\/\/www.fisiopr.com\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;http:\/\/www.fisiopr.com&quot;}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fisiopr.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FisioPR<\/a>. \u201cShort-burst exercise routines are very effective as long as the intensity is high enough,\u201d he says, noting that intensity is individualized, and that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n<h2>Can snack workouts replace longer workout sessions?<\/h2>\n<p>The short answer is no. All of the experts agree that snack workouts should be viewed as complementary to longer sessions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLonger sessions usually allow for greater training volume, deeper fatigue, heavier strength work, endurance training, power development, and more focused recovery work,\u201d Diamos says.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/all-the-benefits-of-strength-training-for-women\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\">heavy strength training<\/a>, for example, Col\u00f3n says it requires longer rest periods. Otherwise, you could introduce fatigue or cause form breakdown, which could, in turn, lead to injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThink of your longer sessions as your foundational pillars for strength and structural longevity, and your micro workouts as the connective tissue,\u201d Coleman adds. \u201cThey lower the barrier to entry, protect your routine, and keep your movement patterns primed on the days life gets in the way.
