The most exciting moments in Azrou\u00ebl\u2019s resort 2027 are ones that don\u2019t necessarily announce themselves. In an instance of fashion cross-pollination, he managed to blend a cashmere sweater and a denim jacket into a single crewneck, the blue denim fading into the soft gray cashmere. It\u2019s a process that Azrou\u00ebl has developed over the years, involving painstaking washing, gluing, and cashmere brushing. \u201cIt takes a really long time,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s done by hand, so every piece is going to look different.\u201d<\/p>\n
Azrou\u00ebl also continued experimenting with leather, as seen in an ultra-lightweight funnel-neck trench coat. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t look like leather, but it is very, very fine,\u201d he said. \u201cIt feels like nylon when you touch it.\u201d Elsewhere, he fashioned a sporty windbreaker\u2014a particular standout in the collection\u2014which he noted was also windproof. To achieve the technique, Azrou\u00ebl shaves the leather down until it is paper thin and backs it for reinforcement.<\/p>\n
Azrou\u00ebl maintained his masculine-meets-feminine thesis for resort, but sprinkled some prep into his otherwise standard offering. While it was certainly welcome to see him push himself, it\u2019s his commitment to technical innovation that sets him apart. Clearly, it\u2019s paying off\u2014the designer just opened a new location on Madison Avenue. For Azrou\u00ebl, it\u2019s an opportunity to appeal to a new, Upper East Side customer. \u201cThe daughter and the mother can shop there\u2014we get both,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
