Just 48 hours after the Academy Awards and its raft of late-night parties, the fashion set was already RSVPing “yes” again. On a sweltering Tuesday evening, Bloomingdale’s CEO Olivier Bron and chief merchant Denise Magid welcomed a crowd to the sleek new Frame headquarters in Beverly Hills, raising a glass in honor of California and its singular style.
The occasion was to celebrate the launch of Bloomingdale’s new summer-soaked California Love campaign—an ode to the Golden State featuring over 270 exclusive pieces across 28 capsule collections, including new launches from Vince, Citizens of Humanity, Agolde, Clare V., Staud, Simkhai, Frame, and Mother, and an exclusive Aqua x Lisa Says Gah collaboration.
As guests were ferried via elevator to the sprawling penthouse, they were greeted with Champagne and spicy margaritas. Among them: Zoey Deutch, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Kathryn Gallagher, and Kasmere Trice Stanfield, who mingled alongside Matt Bomer, Sophia Bush, and Frame co-founder Jens Grede. Designer Jonathan Simkhai circled the room while models Hilary Rhoda and Staz Lindes held court. DJ Ella Balinska kept the music—and the energy—running loud.
There was substance behind the style too—the evening shone a spotlight on Baby2Baby; the nonprofit at the heart of the campaign’s community mission. From March 1 through April 30, Bloomingdale’s customers can round up in-store purchases or donate at the checkout online to further Baby2Baby’s work, which reaches over one million children annually.
Co-founders Kelly Sawyer and Norah Weinstein were also at the party, alongside Baby2Baby board members Erin and Sara Foster of the womenswear label Favorite Daughter, which has coincidentally just launched at Bloomingdale’s as well. Unlike some attendees, the sisters had kept their Oscars weekend decidedly low-key. “I had a viewing party at a friend’s place with my kids, and it was perfect,” Erin Foster told Vogue. Her sister was quick to add context: “You also gave like 40 celebrities walking pneumonia at the Vanity Fair party a few years ago….”
