Olivia Rodrigo is kicking off her new era with a bang. Today, the musician released “drop dead,” the first track from her forthcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
Rodrigo and director Petra Collins (one of the singer’s frequent collaborators) shut down Versailles for the accompanying music video, where the singer lounged in bed on her laptop and bopped around the halls in a distinctly Gen-Z-meets-Marie Antoinette look.
Styled by Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, Rodrigo wore a dusty blue off-the-shoulder Chloé pre-fall 2026 top, silky ecru bloomers, and white pointelle knee socks. But its the images of Rodrigo, running around in retro pink over-ear headphones and glued to her laptop in bed, distinctly call back to the girlish, modern, and sometimes anachronistic motifs of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. (One behind-the-scenes photo of Kirsten Dunst and Jason Bateman pondering a laptop in full Rococo costume feels especially poignant.)
