We’ll get into fabric and quality, fit and feel, and so much more as we make our way through the shop floor. Happy scrolling (and strolling)!
Never one to shy away from a micro short, a lover of colorful cardigans (powder blue, baby pink, and butter yellow), and a poplin pant aficionado (I wear them year-round, from sun to snow), I consider myself the ultimate Dôen girl. So when I had the opportunity to visit the brand’s freshly opened Madison Avenue flagship in New York City last week, I was more than thrilled—borderline giddy. After the opening of their downtown Bleecker Street location, this move uptown feels like a natural evolution—bridging easygoing California elegance with a sense of East Coast prim and polish.
Dôen’s Spring Style Staples:
Designed with longtime collaborators Nickey Kehoe Interior Design, the new boutique is equal parts down-to-earth—think rustic wood floors, dressing rooms lined in delicate floral carpeting, and a palette of pale blue and emerald green—and quietly luxurious, with velvet ottomans, cabinets filled with antique curiosities, and accents of fringe and crystal pendant lighting. But the luminous backdrop wasn’t the only thing worth noting. Racks lined with signature Dôen staples were the real showstoppers—and the true reason for my visit—from elegant dresses in sumptuous satin and crisp poplin to silky, lace-trimmed separates and transitional outerwear in suede and structured canvas. The new flagship is also home to the brand’s 10th anniversary capsule collection. And the best part? Each piece lends itself to multiple styling moments—worn together for a head-to-toe Dôen look or mixed into a more pared-back wardrobe, as seen below.

Silky Separates & Sorbet Shades
Beyond its wear-with-everything dresses, Dôen’s silky, lace-trimmed separates are what first put the brand on the map. For spring and summer, the mini Iona short is the standout—often selling out instantly, with waitlists to match. Rendered in shades of sea-salt white, lime green, and peach, the leggy style lends itself to several key styling approaches. Here, I paired mine with a matching sleeveless sweater and a classic black kitten-heel pump (never overlook Dôen’s shoe selection, which often comes in under-$300). For a welcome contrast, I tied the brand’s Petra cardigan in powder blue over my shoulders. With balmy summer nights on the horizon, the look works in spades—especially in these delicious sorbet shades.
