Revisiting All of Nicole Kidman’s Met Gala Looks

The 2026 Met Gala is soon upon us—and this year’s co-chairs include Nicole Kidman, Beyoncé, and Venus Williams (among the countless other celebrities who will be hitting the red carpet as guests). While one can only hypothesize what they will wear for the grand event—and, more importantly, how they will interpret this year’s theme and dress code “Fashion is Art”—one can take an educated guess based on their stylish Met history.

Kidman, for instance, has attended the Met Gala six times now, and she has cultivated a few Met Gala signatures over the years. Classic Hollywood glamour is usually her M.O. The Oscar-winning actor first attended the Met back in 2003, when she co-chaired in a slinky, one-shouldered Gucci gown by Tom Ford that was punctuated with shimmering crystals. In 2005, she then returned to co-chair again, this time doing it in a discrete strapless navy Chanel number with black beading.

In more recent years, however, Kidman has dialed up the drama, and delivered gowns that leaned more theatrical. For the 2023 Met Gala, the star re-wore a pink silk-tulle Chanel gown punctuated with ostrich feathers, which she first wore in a 2003 Chanel No. 5 commercial directed by Baz Luhrmann. (We love a self reference.) Last year, Kidman donned another throwback moment, sporting a re-creation of a sculptural 1952 Balenciaga gown.

What will Kidman wear this year? Only time will tell, but based on her prior fashion choices, it’s certainly going to be A-list worthy. In anticipation of the first Monday in May, revisit all of Kidman’s Met Gala looks below.
